Make code patterns
familiar.

AI writes code. You should still understand it.

TypingPall is a focused practice app for algorithms, design patterns, language idioms, and concurrency—one line at a time.

Runs on macOS 12+ · GPL-3.0 · No account, analytics, or third-party runtime dependencies

Why practice in the age of AI?

Fast trains exist, but runners still use treadmills.

AI generates code, but engineers still need the muscle memory of how a binary search narrows, why a mutex guards shared state, and where an off-by-one hides.

Understanding is a skill that atrophies without practice. TypingPall is the treadmill.

See the practice loop

Less passive review.
More recall.

Choose a pattern, keep the full reference in view, reproduce one line, and repeat the parts that deserve another pass.

A real walkthrough of TypingPall’s native practice flow.

A deliberately calm loop

Practice the shape
of a solution.

  1. 01

    Choose a pattern

Start with a built-in lesson, paste a snippet, or import a UTF-8 source file.

  2. 02

    Type one line

The reference stays visible. Leading indentation is handled, and the first mismatch is easy to spot.

  3. 03

    Recall and repeat

Hide the code when you are ready, get a small hint, and repeat the line or the whole pattern without a timer.

Practice material included

Patterns worth

A useful first contribution

Help make practice
more memorable.

TypingPall is intentionally small, native, and uncomplicated. We welcome focused improvements that make its practice loop clearer, more accessible, or more useful.
